I'm so excited to show you my new Christmas Trees.  I made a couple last night that turned out super cute, don't you think?  These little guys are fairly big - measuring about an inch and a half tall.  Each tree is delicately adorned with little glass lights and trimmed with sterling silver garland and base.  I think these would make adorable pendants or zipper pulls.  Or, for an extra special holiday gift you jazz up your holiday wrapping and adorn your Christmas packages with one of these.  I plan to add some clear fishing line to one and hang it from my kitchen window with my holiday angels.

I'm going to make these available for order on my Bead Specials page.  I'll start with allowing up to 10 orders and see how far that gets me.  You will be able to customize your tree to have different colored glass lights on it if you want or you can order it as is like the picture shown.  I love making these guys, and I priced them to sell...so let's see those orders!

On the weather front - the rain is back. Blech.

Cheers,
Cheryl

Finally - the rain has subsided for a bit.  Weekend is still supposed to be wet though.  So much for getting my winter pruning done.

Here's a nice set of beads that I did last night.  I think I am going to call them French lace.  The ivory color in these beads have a nice old world feel to them and the scrolls and patterns are done in ink blue (purple-ish) and sage green.  Six matching spacer beads in ink and sage as well as two matching earring pairs done in ivory with ivory scrolls.  These pressed tab beada are so nice for bracelets.  They lay flat on your wrist and are so comfortable!  I am addicted to making beads in this shape.

Well, these babies will go up for auction tomorrow unless I hear from someone first that they want them.  Just shoot me an email if you do, otherwise I'll send out a note when they are ready.

Hey everyone - it's election day.  Don't forget to get out there and vote!

On the bead front, I had something happen this morning that needs to go down in the record book because it is extremely rare for me.  My body woke me up this morning and without looking at the clock I hopped out of bed, jumped into my slippers and walked into the kitchen to get my morning coffee.  Phillip was sitting at the table typing away on his laptop as he always does in the morning before work and he stopped to gawk at me in awe and disbelief.  "What? I said to him.  Then I looked at the clock.  Holy crap, it was 4:54 a.m.!!!   What the heck?  I NEVER get up early.  EVER.  I think it's against my religion or something.  So Phillip got a good chuckle over it and after a few minutes of debating on whether or not I should go back to bed for a couple more hours, I decided to turn on my kiln and see what I could do about making some beads this morning.

I managed to complete a small set of beads for some zipper pulls that my sister's co-worker has ordered.  When I finally left for work this morning they were still cooling in the kiln, so you will have to wait for pictures tomorrow.

The rain is still relentlessly coming down - I think they said yesterday we had 4 inches of rainfall.  The rivers are flooded, schools are closed, and God help you if you live in Carnation, WA, becuase last I heard it has just become an island.

Stay warm and dry!

Here is the view from my garage door this morning.  It's horribly wet here today and there are flood warnings just about everywhere.  The rain is scheduled to last for the next 5 days or so and they are saying we are breaking all kinds of records when it comes to rain fall.  Click here to read about it if you're intersted.  Thank goodness we live on higher ground.  Traffic is always such a "treat" here too when it rains.  It takes me almost an hour to drive 10 miles to my office.

No new beads for you yet, but I did manage to spend a couple hours completely cleaning off my workbench.  I had a real mess and couldn't find anything, but now it's clean and organized and I'm ready to burn!  Just need to find some time tonight after work....so wish me luck.

Happy Monday everyone.  Hope you're staying warm and dry. Oh, and if you like visiting my site, please use the link about to vote for me!

Sorry, I don't have much news to post about today, but I thought this photo would be well suited since we have had rain-rain-rain and more rain, and it is expected to last through next week.  Poor Phillip and the gang are playing in the final men's club golf tournament tomorrow so I anticipate them all coming back cold and wet.  I will try to get a picture of him in his new rain gear complete with rain hat, gloves & pants. It's quite a sight.  Let's hope they keep him dry.  I like to golf, but I am most definitely a fair weather golfer.  No bones about it.  If you have to have on two gloves and rain pants to stay dry when playing golf, then you just shouldn't be playing golf.  Golf was not meant to be played in the rain. Football?  Now that's a different story.  A muddy wet football game is usually really fun to watch.

Oh, and I wanted to send out a big hello and hug to my old highschool friend Heather from Michigan.  Heather, I miss ya honey!   Come out to Seattle and visit soon, okay?  Remember this day?  LOL!  Don't kill me for posting that. *wink* I think this was right after graduation, wasn't it?  Ah...memories.  Those were good times.

Happy Friday everyone.  Have a great weekend.

Okay, I know I'm being a bit of a "baby" with my complaining about the cold weather, but geeze-louise, it's freezing outside!  I live in the Pacific Northwest, not the Mid West.  I've always said, if it's going to be cold enough to freeze the dogs water bowl on the back porch, then we might as well have snow.  I grew up in Michigan and love the snow, but we don't often get snow here in the Seattle area.  The holidays just aren't the same without snow, ya know?  However, my studio is in our <unheated> garage - so this cold weather really hinders my productivity.  I have a small space heater, and the kiln going next to me helps a bit - but I don't last long - especially at night which is really the only time I get to torch during the week.  Well, anyway - I long for the day that I can have my own heated studio building that is not my garage, but I guess I will have to make due for now.  =)

I'm hoping to have new bead sets for you by Friday.  Saturday I am off to a craft fair and then Sunday I suppose I should do some housework but I might get some torch time in then too.

Hope everyone survived Halloween.  I'm finally coming down off my sugar buzz. LOL!

Cheers,
Cheryl

~Later on Sunday 10/29~
Okay, the new Christmas set is up, however, when I was cleaning them, the funky Christmas tree focal that I mentioned would go nicely with this set broke, so darn it...I need to go make another one.  Anyway - here's the set without the focal bead.

~October 29th~
Hey, how many of you forgot to set your clocks back last night.  I did!  Yep, got up at 8:30 only to discover it was really 7:30 a.m.  For those of you who know me, I am definitely not a morning person - so getting up at 7:30 on a Sunday is a huge event for me!

I have a new Christmas set done with a really funky Christmas Tree focal bead.  I still have to clean them and take pictures, but I am going to do that next...so check back in a few hours and I should have an update.

I just listed these beads (to the right) on Justbeads.com - so go check it out.  Starting bid of $35.00 - not bad for a set of 15.

It's raining here today - yuck.  But, maybe I'll get some housework done. I might sneak a peek or two at the Seahawks game too.  That starts at 10:00 here so I best get busy.

Have a great week!

Okay, I put up the pictures for the new set that is going on eBay shortly.  For now, if you want a closer look just click the image to the right.

Also - I finally added a Bead Specials page for small bead sets that you can buy directly from me rather than on eBay or Justbeads.com.  I only have three sets up there right now, but it's a start.

~October 27th~
Hmmm...not one person tried to guess where I work for the free beads.  Oh well, I tried.  I'll keep the link up below for a while just in case any of you decide to give it a shot.  Here's a hint about where I work.  <I live in the Pacific Northwest.>  That should narrow it down quite a bit - so we'll see if anyone gets close.

New beads coming up shortly.  I still have to clean them and take pics.  I also have a Christmas set that I'm working on....so stay tuned.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

~October 25th~
Happy Wednesday everyone.  So, how many of you out there work for a BIG company where you are a teeny-tiny fish in a great big sea of people?  Well, I am one of those teeny tiny fish and today we are having what we call our quarterly morale event within our group.  It's quite comical actually, becuase the events hardly lends themselves to boosting the team's morale.  It's more about schmoozing and popularity -- but, I put on my "play nice with other people" hat and go to the events like a "good corporate citizen" should.  Believe you me, I would much rather be home in front of my torch making beads!

So -- here's a contest for you.  The first person to email me with their correct guess of what company I work for gets a FREE 3-bead set of beads in your choice of colors.  Two of the beads can be matching for earrings if you choose.  So, send me your guess and I'll post the winner later tonight or tomorrow morning.

P.S. Sorry guys, but family members and co-workers who read my blog are exempt from this little challenge.

~October 23rd~
Geeze...where does the time go? I can't believe it's almost Halloween - and before you know it, we'll all be shopping for our Thanksgiving Turkey!  I think next weekend we get to set the clocks back and we will gain an hour - however, that means it gets dark here around 4:30.  I hate that.

Well, I managed to get a small set of beads done this weekend.  They will be up on eBay later this evening. For now, If you want a closer look, just click on the image.

That's it for now - have a great week.

~October 18th~
The Rosemary beads are sold - so now I have to get busy and post another set.  I am thinking about doing an orphan set auction.  I have about three bowls worth of beads that are just sitting around gathering dust, but they all are really quite nice.  I'll see what I can put together tonight.  I also have a great color combo in mind for my next set.  Dark earthy tones in dark brown, cranberry, olive and ivory.  So, check back soon for pics.

~October 16th~
Well, no new beads today but I have lots of great ideas in my head...and...the "Rosemary" auction is still running, with no bids I might add. I really need to learn how to take decent photos, becuase the picture of these beads just don't do them justice.  The coloring appears to be a bit off.

The weekend flew by and I never got to my torch even once!  Sunday was "movie" day.  It was cold and rainy here, so after the Seahawks game ended we bummed around on the couch all day and watches movies.  (X-men 1, 2 & 3 and then we rented The Sentinel (on Demand) with Harrison Ford and Keifer Sutherland.)  I really enjoyed the X-men series which surprised me becuase I'm not normally the Sci-Fi type -- but they were really good.  The Sentinnel was just okay.  Personally I think Michael Douglas is starting to become a "has-been" but I am a fan of Keifer Sutherland, so it all worked out. =)

Happy Monday - and stayed tuned for more beads this week.  I think I am going to start a "specials" page for smaller bead sets that I don't want to put up for auction.  What do you think?  Good idea? Let me know....

Cheers!
Cheryl

~October 13th~
Just got the auction listed!  Check it out.
Have a great weekend everyone. I'll try to have more beads on Monday.

~October 12th~

Updating today with a new set of beads that will be on eBay probably tomorrow.  I named this set after a co-worker who loves my beads and has been after me to make a set in these colors.  So, I am calling them "Rosemary" just for her.

Also, a special hello to JB - thanks for checkin in on me!

More beads in the works so stay tuned.

~September 29th~

Uggh..been working working working!  My day job has been keeping me very busy and night time productivity at the torch is minimal.  I'm also trying to work on bunch of pieces to send to my sister back in Michigan for her friends at work.  Now it's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend!  Hoping to get some good things to show you -- but did I tell you that I hate taking pictures of my beads and jewelry?  I need a better setup at home for doing that.  If it weren't such a pain setting everything up I may not dislike it so much.  At any rate - I'll try to get some new pics posted for you.

Cheers!

~September 15th~

Back from vacation - all rested and relaxed.  Can you tell?  We had a great time and now it's work work work until the holidays roll around.  I should be on the torch this weekend, so stay tuned for some new beads next week.

Have a great weekend!

What a great weekend!  Started out with twilight golf and dinner on Friday night.  Saturday was yard work day and I got some really great perenials planted (I love Lavendar), managed to do lots of pruning and trimming as well.  (oh, my aching back). Sunday started early with a couple of hours at my torch making some beads for my sisters birthdays next week.  (which, by the way turned out awesome! Can't wait to put the bracelets together) While doing laundry, I cleaned the house from top to bottom and shampooed the area rugs.  Ended the day with a pizza and a couple of cocktails with friends.  It was a hard-work weekend, but very satisfying becuase now my house is CLEAN!  Don't you just love a clean house?  Unfortunately, it's Monday already - and I'm back to work.

Have a great week everyone.
